Maastricht, Gisèle Croës Gallery at TEFAF (The European Fine Art Fair)

This Brussels-based gallery, since 1972, is dedicated to representing the multiple facets of the history of Chinese art. Objects on display at TEFAF represent roughly each period or dynasty that reflect the richness, diversity and artistic coherency of Chinese culture throughout its evolution.

The gallery is renowned for its collection of bronze vases, with some dating from 15th century BC and others with unusual dimensions. Highlights include several precious objects in gold or silver from the Tang (618-907) and Liao (907-1125) Dynasties, which are a prime example of the extreme refinement achieved by Chinese civilization in this domain.
