This exhibition showcases artist-designed carpets taken from a special collection that has been edited by Paris auction house Artcurial since 1975. Comprising of 33 carpets by 16 artists from around the world, these underfoot masterpieces were created from 1918 until today. A stellar list of artists is involved in the carpet as a canvas project: Arman, Ivan da Silva Bruhns, Sonia Delaunay, Piero Dorazio, Natalia Dumitresco, Emile Gilioli, Julio Le Parc, Roberto Matta, Jean-Michel Meurice, Alicia Penalba, Anne et Patrick Poirier, Guy de Rougemont, Nicolas Schoffer, Georges Valmier, Bart van der Leck, Zao Wou-Ki.

Made in a limited edition, all the carpets are executed in France by artisans using the traditional “hand tufting” technique – a labour intensive process whereby no knots are used. Each carpet is numbered and are available to buy in this selling exhibition at Galerie Pierre-Alain Challier, Paris.
