Beatles to Bowie explores the leading pop music personalities who helped create The ‘Swinging London' of the 1960s was punctuated by the pop music personalities that put the beat to a generation in transition. Over 150 photographs are assembled, together with a range of memorabilia, illustrating how image, music, fashion and performance made musicians icons and London a cultural hotbed. Leading pop and cultural figures are presented from each year within this remarkable decade, such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks and The Who as well as early portraits of singers such as Cliff Richard, Billy Fury, Marianne Faithful, Jimi Hendrix and David Bowie, all portraits that are already classics though still living in memory and influence today.
