Saint-Paul, Galerie Catherine Issert
Borderlines in art, both figurative and literal, is the theme of Bordercross, a selling exhibition at Galerie Catherine Issert in Saint-Paul, in the South of France. Curated by Christian Besson, it includes paintings, sculpture and light-emitting artworks, most of which are created in bold and vibrant colours. Accompanying the show is a helpful short text written by Besson, which remarks on each of the five artists in the show: John M. Amrleder (“a refined fan of surprise spangles and an imperturbable practitio-
ner of serendipity”); Cécile Bart (“adds to her subjects luminous shards and a lateralising disposition requiring movement on the part of the spectator”); François Morellet (“adds a ‘baroque’ touch to a system's clarity”); Olivier Mosset (“juggles with the improbable encounter between monochrome and Pop Art”); and Christian Robert-Tissot (“introduces the support of letters or advertising graphics,
emptied of any eulogistic or commercial intention”).
