Francesco Vezzoli: À Chacun sa Vérité
Paris, Jeu du Paume

Living artist Francesco Vezzoli presented, as part of Performa 2007 at the Guggenheim New York, Right You Are (If You Think You Are), which is a reinterpretation of Luigi Pirandello’s À chacun sa vérité; the Jeu de Paume auditorium will host the video version of this work.

For the Jeu du Paume, and as a complement to the major Federico Fellini exhibition currently on display there, Vezzoli has created an imaginary media event, in which all the communications such as pre-publicity have been put into action in an advertisement for “La Nuova Dolce Vita,” featuring Hollywood star Eva Mendes that, in reality, will never take place.

Vezzoli toys with the idea of objective truth and proposes meditations on the current obsession with fame and the private lives of celebrities, and the media machine that fuels this. Federico Fellini was one of the founding fathers of creative responses to illusion, celebrity, desire, media and myth in our modern social and political sphere.
