Philadelpha, Museum of Art

To follow the portfolio of projects undertaken by the much lauded architect Frank Gehry since his first commission in the early 1970's is exhaustive to say the least. What's refreshing about this exhibition is that, rather than offering a vast overview of his huge back catalogue of celebrated commissions, from the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao to Spain's Marqués de Riscal, it hones in on one particular project – a residential remodelling project, commissioned by Peter Lewis in Lyndhurst Ohio.

Although the project, which evolved into a complex, larger residence, but ultimately remained unbuilt, it was a critical exercise in terms of inspiration as he developed his signature complex geometrical language. Drawings, photos, videos and some 120 architectural models illustrate the architect's creative evolution, offering visitors an in-depth insight into the working process of the Pritzker Prize-winning architect and his Los Angeles based firm, Gehry Partners.
