Saint-Paul-de-Vence, Fondation Maeght

Giacometti & Maeght is an exceptional retrospective of the famous scluptor’s works with 60 bronzes, 10 plaster sculptures and 20 paintings, not to mention some 80 drawings, engravings, photographs and other documents, which are displayed in the magical surroundings of the Fondation Maeght in Saint-Paul-de-Vence.

The artist’s paintings have been given a prominent place in the exhibition, in particular his portraits of Aimé Maeght and Marguerite Maeght, all three versions of which will be shown together for the first time. The Fondation Maeght will also honour the man himself. Alberto Giacometti and Aimé Maeght were friends and for twenty years they worked, debated and observed the creative process together. Their friendshipis is revealed in letters, films and portraits which shed new light on the personality of Alberto Giacometti.
