It is an oft-overlooked fact that the environment in which art is exhibited directly affects how we respond to it. This week we contemplate artworks in a variety of different situations: contemporary sculpture at a classic English country estate, Vogue covers on Paris’s Champs-Élysées, and the work of “Les Lalannes” on Park Avenue – as well as works by Frank Gehry, Kandinsky and the new breed of “calligraffiti” artists in more traditional spaces.
