No other design house has had as great an impact on luxury travel during the last century as Louis Vuitton. Since 1854, it has epitomised first class voyaging with its unrivalled craftsmanship and inspiring collaborations with worldwide talents. Adding yet another chapter to its legendary history, Louis Vuitton has given nine accomplished creators from the fields of design, architecture and fine art carte blanche to reinterpret nine of their iconic bags. Each talent explored the techniques specific to their creative domain and their assigned bags link to contemporary culture. Legendary light artists James Turrell, transformed the "Wardrobe" trunk into a light box. Andrée Putman morphed the "Steamer" Bag into a gondola. Bruno Peinado imagined a journey through a jungle complete with water jets for the "Speedy" bag. Zaha Hadid, the grande dame of avant-garde architecture, warped the "Bucket" bag into a futuristic exploration of light. Other invited artists include Sylvie Fleury, Ugo Rondinone, Tim White-Sobieski and Robert Wilson.
