Paris, La Galerie Parisienne

The Art Deco era, along with its influence in architecture, interiors and graphics, produced some of the greatest innovations in jewelry design; the work of designer René Boivin of the house Boivin and designer Suzanne Belperron, who worked for ten years with Boivin, are prime examples of this creative period. The pieces on display are daring and innovative, yet extremely elegant and refined, and explicative of a special period in design.

La Galerie Parisienne is showcasing more than fifty rings, necklaces and brooches designed by these two figures who introduced new materials and shapes to the jewelry world. The exhibition aims to understand the creative Parisian spirit that drove the Art Deco movement roughly from 1925 until the 1940s – a spirit that, in general, is the principle interest and resource of La Galerie Parisienne.
