Everyone knows Sonia Rykiel, whose name has become a brand and its creator, an icon. Her silhouette, like a stroke of charcoal, and her flamboyant hair are her signature. Independent and involved with the world around her, a lover of books, art and artists, Sonia Rykiel enriches her
fashion with her other passions, fueling design through writing and drawing…

An artist and recepient of many honors including the Legion d’honneur, Sonia Rykiel has published nine books, collaborated on numerous projects and styled prestigious interiors. A seductress and muse, she has inspired a number of art world personalities, from Andy Warhol to Robert Altman. To mark her 40th anniversary in fashion, thirty of the international fashion community’s greatest names created designs in homage to her style. Ever in motion, Sonia Rykiel reveals for the first time her drawings, private sketchpads and notes for an exhibition and private sale held in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Works in pencil, markers, vivid pastels, muted shades and black - “women’s true color”* - figure among more than 200 works on show.
