Maastricht, TEFAF (The European Fine Art Fair)

TEFAF Design was the Fair’s stylish newcomer in 2009. In its second year, it will feature particularly rare and influential pieces including works by some of the greatest names in the history of design.

These highlights include a suite of three armchairs and ottoman in walnut and weaved wool by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1955 (at the stand of Galerie Eric Philippe from Paris), one of the three rare first copies of the famous chair made for Le Corbusier’s Villa Church in Ville-d’Avray in France in 1928 (exhibited by Galerie Ulrich Fiedler from Berlin), a Lucio Fontana table top with reverse-decorated glass dating from 1952 (Sebastian & Barquet of New York), as well as a unique sculpture by Gio Ponti and furniture that Otto Wagner made for his own apartment.

Furthermore, TEFAF Design will move to a new location within the Fair. The nine specialist dealers will exhibit next to, but be entirely separate from, the TEFAF Modern section of The European Fine Art Fair.
