The idyllic side of nature is an emblematic theme and rich resource of creativity for Van Cleef & Arpels. The French high jewelry house debuts a global tour of its Spirit of Beauty retrospective, which offers an overview of over 100 years of creation. The name of the exhibition is gleaned from an iconic design, a Van Cleef & Arpels clip in the form of a fairy, called The Spirit of Beauty.

“Beauty is life,” declares French actress Catherine Deneuve, coined as the “godmother” of the exhibition that is produced in conjunction with the French Embassy. Exquisite jewels, timepieces, fashion accessories and objets d’art comprise over 250 pieces selected from the house’s private collection and also from great private French and international collections.

Organized into sections The Spirit of Nature, The Spirit of Elegance, The Spirit of Adventure and Incarnations, the scenography was designed by Patrick Jouin, who recently did an impressive interior overhaul of the historic flagship boutique on Place Vendôme. Complementary collaborations for the exhibitions include a collector t-shirt designed by Tsumori Chisato, and a set of special edition jewelry pieces inspired by the famous Alhambra motif.
