Dating back to 1778, this historic monument is a living testament to the vivacious artistic and cultural heritage of Milan as well as its operatic tradition. La Scala, restored and renovated, re-opened in December 2004 and remains a meeting place for Milan's elite. Although a night at la Scala won't come cheap, the experience is worth every penny.
