CITY GUIDE / PARIS / ARTS & CULTURE / MUSéE RODIN

In 1911 Rodin promised to leave all his paintings to the French state with the proviso that a museum was created to him at the Hôtel Biron, the condemned 18th-century mansion of which he had inhabited a wing. The result is one of Paris' most enchanting museums, not only for its large collection of Rodin's works inside but for the delightful garden which is dotted with sculptures including the 'Burghers of Calais' and 'The Gates of Hell'.
