Scuderia, a new restaurant in the heart of New York’s Greenwich Village, is billed as the junior sibling of Euro-social canteen Da Silvano (the daughter of the owner of both restaurants runs the new upstart). Not surprisingly, people-watching abounds but so does Italian comfort food with a bent towards Venetian classics; Executive Chef Claudio Cristofoli, formerly of Cipriani, hails from northern Italy. A stellar wine list that ranges from affordable bottles to what they call “must haves” completes the set-up.
