There are 33 Walter Steiger stores around the world but this is the first and only one dedicated to the shoe designer’s bespoke creations. A jewel-box of a boutique where customers discuss their design requirements and are measured up fronts an atelier that is hidden behind smoked glass and where two cobblers tire away on lasts and exotic skins to produce what Steigher calls “small sculptures”. The whole process takes between six and eight weeks, even if your name is Beyonce or Lapo Elkann, two of Steiger’s regular clients
