CITY GUIDE / PARIS / EVENTS / THE SOURCES OF ABORIGINAL PAINTING

For the first time in Europe, the work of the Aborigine artists of Papunya – a small community at the heart of the central Australian desert which started producing art in 1971 – is exhibited at the Musée du quai Branly. More than 160 canvases and almost 100 objects and photographs from the period showcase this extraordinary oeuvre which is saturated with meaning that changes our understanding of the region.
