160-year old Tretyakov Gallery is the biggest Russian art treasury, risen from the private collection of the merchant Pavel Tretyakov, which was donated to the city of Moscow in 1892. Among 130,000 items there are such gems as Wassily Kandinsky's 'Composition VII' and Kazimir Malevich's 'Black Square'. A unique collection of contemporary Russian art was relocated into a new building on Krymsky Val.
