With too much choice and so little time, what do you buy the person with everything? We asked four women who have built empires based on a keen eye and indomitable style to seek out the most gorgeous gifts of the season.

EVA JEANBART-LORENZOTTI
Since founding the luxury retail website www.vivre.com in 1996, the only thing that surpasses Eva Jeanbart-Lorenzotti's savvy business acumen is her innate sense of style. Eva takes us through the most lusted after luxuries of the season:

Which five items are on your holiday wish list?
A getaway vacation to a beautiful island with my kids, because I am always trying to find more time with my family and I love the thought of escaping to a secluded place for a while!
Crystal ring from David Webb. It's an elegant and multi-faceted piece that combines a simple stone with an edgy Deco setting.

I love Sergio Rossi's crocodile riding boots because they are chic, classic and timeless and I love to have things to pass down to my daughter.

Shu Uemura's dreamy make up box solves the tedious problem of having to go out and buy all of your favorite products separately.

A silver iPod with my favorite music and my kids' likeness engraved on the back.

I would absolutely love to have Francesco Clemente paint my portrait and create something with my children.

What do you think will be some of your hottest selling holiday items this year?
The Mirrored Domino Set from Design Artefacts. With its colorful handcrafted pieces and sleek container this is both a decorative item and a fun addition to your game collection.

Because traveling is never easy, the luxurious Malo Cashmere Travel Set is perfect for anyone who loves those over-the-top comforts while navigating through crowded airports and lengthy flights.

I love the Vivre pouches because they come in an array of colors and styles and can be stuffed with everything from fun lip-glosses to a beautiful watch or piece of jewelry. You can also have one in every color to use as your summer clutch.

What would you suggest to someone looking for a unique gift for the person who has it all?
A great gift for couples is the A Poil! Collection, which means 'naked', from Christofle. The allure of these unique rabbit-fur-handled silver serving pieces is that you know they won't have them.
For the woman who has everything, give her something she won't expect. Make a fun jewelry roll sparkle by filling it with 10 colorful pieces from Kenneth Jay Lane. Take the extra step and place this treasure trove in a stunning gold Metallic Mirror Leather Tote from Alessandro dell'Acqua or the handmade fox fur bag from Pellegrino.

For the man who has everything, I suggest the SR-71 Blackbird Chronograph watch. Just the story behind its craftsmanship will dazzle him before he even puts it on. This watch was designed specifically for the pilots of the Lockheed Martin F-117 Nighthawk jets, and its specific features, including evening illumination 100 times brighter than other luminous watches, make this watch a gift he'll never take his eyes off.

What is your idea of the ultimate timeless gift?
A large, beautifully engraved frame with an amazing picture to mark an important moment or perfect memory.

Liz Goldwyn's book Pretty Things because Burlesque is a fascinating world.

BROWNS
Joan Burstein of Browns opened her first fashion boutique on London's South Molton Street in 1970. Today the same street is dominated by a row of stores, stocking the world's leading designers, from John Galliano, to Martin Margiela. "Mrs B", as she is affectionately known, was recently awarded a CBE for her contribution to British fashion.
Which five items are on your holiday wish list?
A Natasha Collis necklace; the jeweler is my granddaughter. Her designs are very feminine and work well with any outfit.

A Bajra Scarf — I can never have enough!

An Eddidi evening bag — the most luxurious evening bag a woman can have. Evening bags are making a big comeback this season.

Piumelli gloves — metallic is a very big trend, this is how to do it in a very elegant way.

A Toy watch — a little bit of fun and very much of the moment.

What do you think will be some of the hottest selling holiday items this year at Browns?
The Toy Watches have already been a big hit. They are worn by celebrities including Madonna and Kiera Knightly and have a great fan base of all ages. We have already re-ordered as we are the exclusive UK stockist.
What would you suggest for someone looking for a unique gift for the person who has it all?
It is often the little luxuries that will appeal to the man or woman who has everything; don't go over the top. We have a collection of card and passport holders from Parks in Crocodile and Lizard that are timeless and very chic.

What is your idea of the ultimate timeless gift?
Something that someone has put real thought into; it is the thought that counts! For me, a wonderful piece of jewelry is always timeless and very personal.
