Daring, original and theatrical, Lee Alexander McQueen was one of the most talented fashion designers of his generation. Having trained on Savile Row as a tailor (he famously wrote obscenities into the lining of a jacket he was working on for Prince Charles) and studied at London’s Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design (the stylist Isabella Blow bought his graduation collection in its entirety), McQueen went on to become creative director at Givenchy as well as the head of his own successful label. At times, he was the darling of the fashion world, while at others he was heavily criticised for his controversial, difficult-to-wear creations. We invite you to discover Alexander McQueen’s genius through five videos.
