As London's V&A Museum presents the first retrospective of the career of David Bowie, we take a virtual tour of the show and showcase a montage of videos that capture his talent for innovation in music, fashion, art and film.
David Bowie is, according to London’s Victoria and Albert Museum, quite simply indefinable. More than a pop star, Bowie’s influence is such that he is a cultural icon, a one-man piece of performance art, which the V&A is recognising in the first retrospective of his career, suggestively titled, ‘David Bowie is’. Proving that the Ziggy Stardust phenomenon is as alive as ever, the exhibition is already breaking records as the fastest-selling in the museum's history with more than 42,000 advance tickets sold before it even opened. Bringing together more than 300 objects from the David Bowie Archive, including lyrics, costumes, photography, film, music videos and set design, the show reveals his sustained reinvention from glam rock pioneer to collaborator with artists and fashion designers. We take a virtual tour and present a montage of videos that reveal the best of Bowie.
Until August 11
