What : A luxury hotel and cookery school that is the produce of a life long dream held by chef extraordinaire Raymond Blanc.
Where : South east of Oxford in the Cotswalds, part of the Thames Valley, England.
Why : Anyone who has ever had the pleasure of meeting a Michelin star chef will know how much of a visionary they can be. One might even call them skillful perfectionists, determined to provide only the best of the best. It seems that Raymond Blanc has taken it that one step further, fully living up to his extra star and creating an almost paradisiacal retreat. Situated in a 13th Century renovated manor, guests stay in either the main house or the garden wing, in rooms exquisitely designed for absolute comfort. As well as the excellent restaurant, the gardens of le Manoir have proven to be a major attraction, an eastern influence notably present with Japanese and Malaysian themes.
One and two day courses are available in the cookery school where students can learn how to create fusion cuisine, how to host the perfect dinner party, and a four day course for fine cuisine enthusiasts also runs during certain months.
